Never quit
on a bad day

Four brooches in a ceramic vessel · Silver, glazed stoneware

A glazed ceramic shell holding several silver bird forms in flight.

After I started working, I faced many challenges — both with the work itself and with people, especially in larger organisations. At first I tried to avoid them, but I learned that what you escape from comes back later.

So now I tell myself: never quit on a bad day. Rest, push through, and things turn. Looking back, most problems were smaller than they seemed, and each one made me a little stronger.

Four silver birds laid out, progressing from a hidden form to one in full flight.
Four states — from hiding, to looking out, to taking off, to flight.

When I'm under stress I hide like a chicken in its coop. The four birds trace the journey from that posture to taking off — everyone struggles, and once you break free you are stronger for it.

Inside the vessel — a small storm in glaze.

Worn together — a constellation in flight.
